Edward W. Collins

Ed and his wife of 40 years, Lois, live in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Ed has fond memories of Choir with Mr. Polk. He remembers practice and rehearsals, and special Choir performances. Ed considers having logged 40 years of marriage, his wonderful family, and, of course, maintaining good health to be some of his greatest accomplishments. He graduated from Funston Elementary School before going on to Kelvyn. His favorite teacher at Kelvyn was the Latin teacher, Mrs. Frances Dykes. Ed says that Mrs. Dykes was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the people who used the Latin language. Also, Mrs. Dykes had a wonderful command of her classroom. His least favorite teacher was Mrs. Gayle. Ed says "she didn't know how to teach and was as weird and bizzare as they come!" (We had a lot of weird and bizarre teachers, Ed! But, I don't remember a Mrs. Gayle nor could I find her in our yearbook?) Ed played the part of the father in the senior class play. His hobbies and special interest are interior design and gardening - especially with plants and shrubs. He is hoping that more classmates from January 58 can be located. (We do, too, Ed!)

Oops! Sorry, Ed. I found Mrs. Gailes, she was a math teacher!
