I don't know how "fond" the memories
of KP's lunchroom food might be, but Allen remembers the
"mystery" lunches in the lunchroom. He does have fond
memories of lunchtime walks in the park. And, he
especially remembers when the Globetrotters performed.
Allen married his high school sweetheart, Loretta. They
raised a wonderful family together, they have three
children, one boy and two girls, and feel blessed to have
eight beautiful grandchildren. Allen likes water sports,
travel, and fishing. He especially likes retirement after
40 years from the Chicago Tribune. Allen attended Nixon
Elementary School. Allen and Loretta live in Palos
Heights, IL. Al wishes he had kept in touch with his KP
friends. (Ahhh! But our 50th reunion will give all of us
a chance to renew old KP friendships.) His favorite KP
teacher was Mr. Heimberger who taught Allen how to use
his hands, and how to set and accomplish goals. His least
favorite teacher was Mr. Bock. Allen could never master
the German language, and Mr. Bock didn't let Allen forget
it!
