What Ever Happened To?

Marilyn graduated from Darwin Elementary School, but prior to attending Darwin, she attended eight different grammar schools! (Aren't we glad Marilyn found her way to Kelvyn) She is married to Jim Kaleta, and they are living in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Marilyn and Jim have three wonderful children all married with families of their own. In addition to being a mom, Marilyn taught dance for 20 years, and she feels a great sense of reward knowing she touched so many lives. She is fond of gardening, traveling and anything to do with music -- dance, concerts, plays, etc. Her fondest memories of KP days are hanging out with her girlfriends. Marilyn belonged to a social club the "No Names" - She especially enjoyed biology classes and chorus with that "dreamy" Mr. Polk. Her two favorite teachers were, of course, Mr. Polk, and also Miss Edith Byman. Miss Byman was Marilyn's homeroom teacher. She says both teachers were in tune with the teenagers, and they made you feel important -- not just another passing face. Marilyn remembers dancing the Charleston for a school event. She's not sure what or why, though. (Anyone remember? It wasn't our senior play.) Her least favorite teacher was Miss Scheff. Marilyn thought Miss Scheff was boring, had no sense of humor, and that she taught strictly by the book.
