What Ever Happened To?

Joan Kurowski (DeLucio)

Joan and her husband, Tony, are living in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Joan's fondest KP memories are of those happy carefree KP days with her friends. She has fond memories of some teachers. Her favorite KP teachers were Mrs. Maccallini and Mr. Rahn, because they made learning fun. But, her division teacher, Miss Scheff and Mr. Cady get Joan's thumbs down. Miss Scheff called Joan rowdy. (Hmmm? Wonder why?) And, Mr. Cady - well, Joan says "Need I say more?" (Nope!) She remembers having lots of laughs, and of course, the senior proms stands out high in her KP memories. Joan considers her life's greatest accomplishment to be having had her four children. Her three daughters are teachers, and her son is a state trooper in Pennsylvania. She also says one of her greatest accomplishments is having a husband who will tolerate all of her many activities. After Joan and her husband retired, they traveled the Continental United States, Hawaii and they also took a trip to Italy. Joan has just recently discovered the joy of gardening. She says she is enjoying getting her hands dirty! Joan graduated from Mozart Elementary School. She almost checked "No, I will not attend" on the questionnaire/survey the reunion committee sent out. Joan had reservations for she wondered how many people she would remember and how many would remember her. But, then she thought about it and checked "Yes, I will attend" - (We're sure glad she did.) (For what it's worth, Joan, many are wondering the same "wonder" - But, you know what? We are 1958 Kelvyn Park High School graduates - all of us Medicare card carrying seniors now. That makes a difference. We're older and wiser. Those that didn't know you or those you didn't know in high school will have a chance at our 50th to say, "Hi! Nice to see you! Remember me? I sat next to you in so and so's class!" )
