Vernon and his wife, Barbara, are
living in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Among Vern's
fondest memories of his days at Kelvyn are enjoying
woodshop, print shop, drafting and ROTC. He also has fond
memories of performing in the senior class play. (Do you
remember that the senior plays were called The Senior
Follies?) Vernon was a court jester. He had to tell the
King, played by John Koziol, that his daughters, the
princesses, were no where to be found. Vernon considers
one of his life's greatest accomplishments to be working
for AT&T, when he engineered and developed the
hardware and software for the first high volume toll
switch, and he stayed with that project for 26 years. He
likes traveling, and has traveled to many parts of the
world. Vernon also likes fishing and gardening. When
asked who his favorite teacher was, Vern said he didn't
have one. (Hmmm?) He did have a least favorite teacher,
though -- Mrs. Paul. He said she was sooooo big and never
seemed to be happy. Vernon graduated from Barry
Elementary School before going on to Kelvyn.
